Samuel's Progress

Samuel's doing awesome!!! He's jabbering all the time and using signs to communicate. It's been great and so exciting to see his quick progress!!  We are constantly grateful for the blessing of doing the cochlear implant. It's changed the direction of his life and his opportunities! Thanks again!!!

Samuel's Cochlear Implant

This was the big week! It started with Sterling having flu-like symptoms and feeling so sick. It turns out he had strep throat. I packed things up and we some-how packed all the important things. The trip was smooth and the day of the surgery went well. We were surrounded by angels- family and I'm sure others we didn't see. All our needs were taken care of! I was amazed!!! When we got to the hospital Samuel was distracted by all the fun toys. The surgery went perfect (from 2-4pm) and then we started recovery. It took him 5 hours to want to move around, and only a few hours to want to eat again :) By 10 that night he was ready to do something so I put him in the wagon and went for a ride. It was so sweet. He couldn't lift his head but lifted his little hand and waved at everyone who passed. By 3am he was wanting to play. He would get out and start running but had no balance so fall over. It was everything I could do to keep him in his wagon. The nurse made him a little ball to keep him entertained and sitting in one place. From there on he has been almoss back to his old self. The plane ride home he didn't want to sit still and walked up the aisle waving to certain people...usually the stressed or serious looking people :) He always got a smile out of them. Such a sweet boy!
